BERGADANO

Dating back to 1974, Bergadano has its roots as a family-owned estate of around 2.5 hectares. Founded by Cavalier Enrico Bergadano, it is today his son, Piercarlo, who runs the property and winery. Production is small, limited to 1,000 cases each year, but the focus remains on quality - as it always has for this highly regarded winery. Located squarely in the heart of Barolo, Bergadano grows only Nebbiolo and Barbera. The winery’s flagship Barolo comes from Monforte d’Alba fruit, and such is the commitment to excellence that even its Langhe Nebbiolo is sourced from this location. The single-vineyard Barolo has its origin in the Sarmassa ‘cru’, a prestigious location in the Barolo commune known for providing Barolos of great finesse. Even the Bergadano Barbera d’Alba is sourced from the Brunate vineyard, another ‘cru’ in Barolo that straddles the commune of La Morra, land normally reserved for Nebbiolo — and comes from vines that were planted in 1960. Bergadano offers some of the best values in all of Piedmont.
